About this converter
HEIC is Apple's default camera format since iOS 11, roughly half the size of JPG but poorly supported outside Apple devices. BMP is an uncompressed Windows bitmap format producing very large files, still common in legacy software.
Almost everyone converting HEIC to BMP is holding an iPhone photo that Windows, an Android app or an upload form has refused. iOS switched to HEIC to save space and the rest of the world never followed, so the file is fine and nothing will open it.
Expect the BMP to be bigger than the HEIC you started with — often several times bigger. That is not a fault: BMP stores every pixel exactly rather than approximating them, which is the whole point of it, and it costs space. If what you actually want is a smaller file, compress it instead.
