Your files

Images and PDFs you open with any tool here are processed entirely on your own device, by code running in your browser. They are never uploaded, never transmitted to us or to anyone else, and never stored on a server. When you close the tab they are gone.

This is not a promise about how carefully we handle your files — it is a consequence of how the site is built. There is no upload endpoint to misuse.

What we do collect

Visiting any website leaves a record with the server that sends you the page. Ours logs the usual technical details of a request:

• your IP address
• which page you asked for, and when
• your browser and device, as your browser reports them
• the page that linked you here, if any

This is used to keep the site running and to defend it against abuse. We do not build profiles from it, and we do not sell it.

What the tools report back

When you use a tool, it records six things: that the page was opened, that a file was chosen, that a conversion started, and whether it succeeded or failed — plus a download if you take one. Each carries the name of the tool, how many files there were, how large they were in bytes, and how long the work took.

None of it includes your file, its name, or anything drawn from inside it. A failure sends the error message, which is one of a fixed set written into the site rather than anything about your document.

This exists so we can tell which tools people actually use, and so a tool that breaks on a file we have never seen tells us it broke. It goes to PostHog, on their European servers.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies and uses no tracking pixels — including for the usage figures described above, which are counted per visit rather than per person. Nothing identifies you between one visit and the next.

It stores one thing on your device: your choice of light or dark mode, kept in your browser's local storage so the site does not flash the wrong colour on your next visit. Clearing your browser data removes it.

Other people's services

Cloudflare hosts and delivers this site. It is therefore the company that receives and logs the request data described above, on our behalf.

PostHog receives the six usage events described above, on servers in the European Union. They see no files and no filenames.

Some tools download an extra component the first time you use them — the text-recognition engine, for example, or the font and character-map files a PDF needs. These come from this site's own domain, not from a third party, and they carry no identifying information.

Your rights

If you are in the UK, the EU or another region with data protection law, you have the right to ask what personal data is held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to its processing. In practice we hold no account, no profile and no file of yours — only the server logs above and the per-visit usage counts, neither of which is tied to a person. Write to us if you want to exercise any of these rights.

Children

This site is not directed at children and asks for no personal details from anyone.

Changes

If we ever add a tool that has to send a file to a server — image generation and similar work cannot run on a phone — this page will say so plainly, and so will that tool's own page, before it goes live. The claim that your files stay on your device will never be left standing over a page where it is not true.
