About this converter
A watermark marks a document as something other than final — a draft going out for comment, a copy that should not be circulated, a sample of work you have not been paid for yet.
The words are printed diagonally across the middle of every page, behind nothing and over everything, sized to fit whatever shape the page is. Faint is enough to be unmistakable without making the document hard to read; strong is for when the point is that nobody should mistake this for the real thing.
Keep it short. Two or three words read clearly at a diagonal; a sentence does not.
Frequently asked questions
Can the watermark be removed afterwards?
Not easily by an ordinary reader, but it is drawn onto the page rather than locked into it — someone determined and equipped could strip it. Treat it as a clear label, not as security.
Can I use an image or my logo?
Not yet — text only for now.
Do my PDFs get sent anywhere?
No. Everything happens on your own device, so your documents never leave it. That matters more than usual for PDFs, which tend to be contracts, statements and scans.
Does it work with password-protected files?
Not yet. A protected PDF has to be unlocked with its password first.
