About this converter
Documents assembled from several sources usually arrive without page numbers, which makes them awkward to talk about — "the paragraph near the middle" is nobody's idea of a reference.
By default a number goes along the bottom of every page in the form 3 / 12, so the reader also knows how much is left. You can move it to any of six spots, have it read as a plain number or "Page 3 of 12", and choose its size and shade.
Numbering follows the order the pages are actually in, so it stays correct after merging or splitting.
Frequently asked questions
Can I keep a cover page out of the numbering?
Not yet — every page is numbered, starting at one. Split the cover off first if it has to stay unnumbered.
Where can the numbers go?
Bottom or top, and left, centred or right — six positions in all. Bottom right is the usual choice for anything printed single-sided.
Do my PDFs get sent anywhere?
No. Everything happens on your own device, so your documents never leave it. That matters more than usual for PDFs, which tend to be contracts, statements and scans.
Does it work with password-protected files?
Not yet. A protected PDF has to be unlocked with its password first.
