About this converter
A favicon is the small icon shown in a browser tab, bookmark list and search result. Modern sites need more than one file: a multi-size .ico for legacy browsers, several PNG sizes for mobile home screens, and a web manifest describing them.
This tool produces the complete set from a single source image. Start from a square image at 512 pixels or larger — ideally an SVG, since vector sources stay sharp at every size. Very detailed images do not survive being scaled to 16 pixels, so simple, high-contrast marks work best.
The generated files and the HTML snippet to reference them are packaged into a single download.

What size should my source image be?
At least 512x512 pixels, square. An SVG is better still, because every output size is rendered directly from the vector rather than scaled from a bitmap.
Which files do I actually need?
A favicon.ico at the site root covers older browsers, a 180x180 apple-touch-icon covers iOS, and 192/512 PNGs plus a manifest cover Android. The download includes all of them with the HTML to link them.
Why does my favicon look like a smudge?
At 16x16 pixels there is room for a letter or a simple shape and nothing more. If your logo has fine detail or text, make a simplified version specifically for the icon.
Does my picture get sent anywhere?
No. The icons are generated on your own device, so nothing is uploaded and nothing is stored.
